Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Experts Deliver Technical Sessions and Live Demonstrations on Computational Storage, DNA Data Storage, Persistent Memory, and Storage Management

Santa Clara, CA., July 27, 2022 - Taking place August 2 - 4, 2022 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, the 2022 Flash Memory Summit is expanding beyond flash memory to address all forms of high-performance memory. This year's conference will feature sessions on the design, development, integration, marketing strategy, and use cases in support of memory technologies and their related hardware, software, and services.

Richelle Ahlvers, Vice Chair, SNIA Board of Directors, will deliver a SNIA special presentation on "New Storage Technologies and Trends: Accelerating through Standards and Open Communities" on Wednesday, August 3 at 2:40 pm.

SNIA is also sponsoring the System Architectures track and participating in additional tracks at this event, including Cloud Storage and Applications, Data Center Applications, DNA Data Storage, Security and Cryptography, SSD Technology, and Sustainability.

Be sure to visit SNIA at booth #725 for technology demonstrations on Computational Storage, Persistent Memory, SNIA Swordfishä, Green Storage, and Storage form factors: EDSFF E1 and E3, a Persistent Memory Programming Workshop and Hackathon, and theater presentations on SNIA’s standards work.

SNIA Sessions at Flash Memory Summit delivered by the following groups:

Compute, Memory, and Storage Initiative

  • Computational Storage Technical Work Group
Creates standards to promote the interoperability of computational storage devices, and to define interface standards for system deployment, provisioning, management, and security. This enables storage architectures and software to be integrated with computation in its many forms.
  • Solid State Storage Technical Work Group
Responsible for creating a SNIA reference architecture to facilitate industry-wide adoption of common requirements, methods, and specifications in related standards organizations.

DNA Data Storage Alliance

  • Today, information is being digitized on a massive scale, by servers in datacenters, by mobile devices, and by networks of sensors everywhere around us. The industry needs a new storage medium that is more dense, durable, sustainable, and cost effective to cope with the expected future growth of archival data. The focus of this group is to create an interoperable ecosystem for DNA-based data storage solutions.

Green Storage Initiative

  • Green Storage Technical Work Group
This group is the primary technical entity within SNIA to identify, develop, and coordinate technical matters related to energy and cooling of storage networking products.

Storage Management Initiative

  • Scalable Storage Management Technical Work Group
Developed the Scalable Storage Management API (SNIA Swordfish), which uses RESTful interface semantics and a standardized data model to provide a scalable, customer-centric interface for managing storage and related data services.

SNIA and Alliance Partners Reception

  • Monday, August 1, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm; Room B-203-204, Second Floor
