WHAT:

SNIA standards work will be featured in the following two sessions:

  • Wednesday, November 10, 2021, 4:00 - 4: 25 pm PST
    Managing Ethernet-Attached Drives Using Swordfish
Presenter: Mark Carlson, Co-chair SNIA Technical Council

This presentation will explore the functions and features of the storage device class referred to as Native NVMe-oF Drives and how they provide lower latency, enhanced performance and leverage various form factors like U.2 and the new EDSFF. Attendees will learn about how Native NVMe-oF drives interoperate with other standard technologies like SNIA Swordfish™ and DMTF Redfish™ HTTP based RESTful interface.

  • Wednesday, November 10, 2021, 5:28 pm PST
ON DEMAND – SFF Driving Future Server Needs
Note: This presentation is virtual and only available on the online platform
Presenter: Anthony Constantine, member of SFF TA TWG

For every system, there are connectors, cables, and form factors defined by the Small Form Factor Technical Working Group (SFF-TA TWG) within SNIA. This group has driven many specifications including 2.5” and 3.5” HDD/SSD form factor, high speed networking connectors, various high speed differential signaling connectors, as well as EDSFF currently in use by the OCP Storage Project. Join us to find out what SFF is doing to keep up with the rapid changes driven in OCP.

SNIA, located in booth #C13, will host a “Chat with SNIA Experts” program where the leadership team will be available to answer questions on SNIA Swordfish™, DMTF Redfish®, computational storage, persistent memory, solid state drives and form factor standards, NVMe® and NVMe-oF, and SNIA’s vision for 2022 and beyond.
