Abstract

Containers are an emerging technology that promises to revolutionize IT operations and management of applications. The landscape is moving quickly as the market matures around commercial and open source container frameworks - so let's go through that landscape to make sense of the emerging standards. We will start with a ground-level survey of the various storage technologies involved in the container stack, and then look at current events of the various industry workgroups as the standards are being defined, including the Container Storage Interface and other Cloud Native Computing Foundation projects as well as vendor-defined standards.
