The SNIA Cloud Object Storage Plugfest Program provides a unique opportunity for developers, architects, and leaders to collaborate on industry best practices, expand their expert peer technical network, and enhance interoperability testing via exposure to a wide array of cloud object storage solutions.

This developer-driven program helps mature greater cloud object storage consistency, leading toward the goal of any-to-any interoperability across the ecosystem.

Because of the impact you are making, SNIA is extending the Plugfest Program to three online events and one in-person event in 2026. Don’t miss out on this collaboration.

All interoperability test results are protected by NDA, to ensure engineering focus is on finding and fixing bugs, before customers find them. Plugfest developers drive test agenda, conduct low-level examination of behavior, traces, and logs, as well as contribute to round-table discussions on lessons learned to raise awareness (see industry report webinars below). SNIA provides the event-forum, to help developers focus on collaborative, multi-vendor testing.

agree to the following

Online and in-person registration is the first step to get onboard.
Plugfest developers agree to submit a signed company NDA
(one NDA per company) and agree to abide by these Participation Guidelines (after registration, you will receive a welcome email and invitation to planning calls).

• Once a signed company NDA is received, you will be added to the Plugfest Slack Channel (NDA only).

• During planning calls, developers coordinate and schedule tests via the interoperability matrix.

• During Plugfest testing, Plugfest developers agree to collaborate on issues found (if you see something, say something to the team: this confirms who else among the team may have impact).

• All Plugfest developers agree to keep detailed Plugfest test results confidential, as defined in the Plugfest NDA.

• During Plugfest round-table discussions, developers agree on important lessons learned that may be shared outside the team to help form industry best practices and methods to address critical issues.

• Note: SNIA facilitates and coordinates the Plugfest event-forum, including planning meetings, team discussions, interoperability matrix, team Causeway site, Slack channel, Zoom infrastructure, NDA agreements, as well as creation and distribution of industry report webinars and promotion.
