SNIA Emerald Power Efficiency Measurement Specification V2.0.2
The Green Technical Working Group has recently approved a new version of the SNIA Emerald
Power Efficiency Measurement Specification. A companion User Guide is also available. The Test Data
Report Template is used to submit results to the Emerald program. You can access all these documents
on the Emerald Documents and Downloads page.

June Training a Success

On June 24–27, 2013, the GSI conducted training on the SNIA Emerald
Power Efficiency Measurement Specification as used in the EPA ENERGY STAR
Data Center Storage Program. It was held at the SNIA Technology Center in
Colorado Springs, with 40 attendees. The 4–day training included a day of
“Storage 101” plus presentation by industry experts, certification bodies,
laboratories, and the EPA.

Collaboration with the EPA ENERGY STAR Data Center Storage Program
The EPA has published the ENERGY STAR Data Center Storage Specification, which is based on the SNIA Emerald Power Efficiency Measurement Specification. GSI and the Green Storage TWG have been
very involved with the EPA in creating the EPA’s specification.
